Ífaistos the poor man, but also it’s too bad that he had an ulterior motive to being her friend after all. It’s best that they don’t continue their friendship. Heartbreaking for them both.

I'm really interested in people's thoughts on this chapter! Like I said to Leanne, I had other ideas about how to break the bond between them. I like to think he came to care about her through spending time with her, rather than just desiring her for the way she looked. I want him to be a good guy! I think I might try out my other idea over the summer, and also see what my beta readers think when they read this version. Everything about the entire story has always been crystal-clear to me except this!

Oof. Wondering what in earth Ifaistos had in mind in wanting her to be bound to him, but also, her safe place is gone.

You know, Leanne, I've struggled with this chapter so much! It's the only part of the entire book that I've done a total rewrite of. Do you think it worked? I have another (third!) idea that I'm toying with instead of this, but it will affect other parts of the story.

Oh it definitely worked. She’s realised that even Ifaistos was not as safe as he seemed.
